Job Description:
The Department of Mathematics at Emmanuel College invites applications for a Tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Mathematics to begin in the Fall of 2010. The candidate must demonstrate excellence in teaching and an active, sustainable research program. Faculty are expected to excel in teaching at all levels of undergraduate mathematics, including developmental level courses as well as advanced courses in the major. Faculty teach three courses per semester, advise undergraduate students and participate in departmental and college-wide service activities. Faculty are also expected to engage in publishable research and other scholarly activities. Specialty area is open.

Requirements:
A Ph.D. in Mathematics is required and experience teaching at the college level is preferred.

A complete application must include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of teaching philosophy, statement of current and future research plans and contact information for three references. At least one of these references should be able to address the quality of the candidate's teaching.
