Job Description:
Course: Teaching Students with Disabilities for General Education Professionals  
 
The successful candidate will hold an M.A. or M.Ed., have a minimum of five year's teaching experience in a special education classroom, and demonstrate knowledge of and expertise in: the legal foundations of special education and inclusion, disability categories, the IEP eligibility process, a range of strategies for supporting the academic, behavioral and social aspects of inclusive teaching, and the role and responsibilities of general educators in addressing the needs of children with disabilities in inclusion settings.

Requirements:
Candidates must be familiar with the standards articulated in the Massachusetts curriculum frameworks for English/Language arts, history/social studies, mathematics and science for grades K-6 and the Department of Education's Professional Standards for classroom-based assessment, differentiated instruction, and instructional accommodations is essential. Experience with, and knowledge of students from culturally diverse backgrounds is also essential.
